The CSIE (Center for Surgical Innovation and Engineering) is founded and directed by Prof. Joseph Schwab and Dr. Ghaednia at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery of Cedars Sinai. CSIE is focused on development of new biomedical devices and wearables via integrating the concepts of engineering, physics, clinical and surgical sciences with artificial intelligence and data science.
Prior to Cedars Sinai our team was directing the SORG orthopedic group at Massachusetts General Hospital where we developed the world renowned SORG algorithms for prediction of several complexities and disease in orthopaedic. Our research group has developed some of the world’s leading predictive algorithms for spine disorders and musculoskeletal oncology.
